facts

Vesuvius is above a subduction zone. The African plate is moving northward at about one inch per year and is slowly closing the Mediterranean basin. As it moves to the north, the African plate is pushed beneath the Eurasian plate.
"Vesuvio (Vesuvius) is probably the most famous volcano on Earth, and certainly one of the most, if not the most dangerous
the last eruption was in 1994

A volcano is an opening, or rupture, in a planet's surface or crust, which allows hot, molten rock, ash, and gases to escape from below the surface. Volcanic activity involving the extrusion of rock tends to form mountains or features like mountains over a period of time.

Vesuvius entered the history of volcanology with the eruption of 79 AD, described by Pliny the Younger. The eruption destroyed Pompeii, Herculaneum, Oplonti and Stabiae and caused the death of Pliny the Elder among many other people.

Mount Vesuvious, Italy erupts, destroys 6 villages and kills 4,000

Exploded 1964 in march

Just a few months ago, the city of Pompeii, here in italy , was a thriving city of 20,000 people. After the eruption of Mt. Vesuvius on August 24, 674 A.U.C., the city is now buried under cinders, ashes and stone.
It began as a regular day in Pompeii, the public baths were opening for business, women were filling water jugs from the street fountain, and at the Temple of Isis, the priests were sitting down to a meal of nuts, eggs, fish and lentils. However, no one knew that one of the worst disasters of Pompeii was about to happen, and that their city would be destroyed. At around lunch time, a deafening crack split the air and the earth trembled violently. As people looked out their windows, they saw thick smoke, showers of hot, wet.....Then it happened and nocked out every body and everythiing in its path.
